Questions from Georgy
Georgy recently had a blog entry letting people ask her interview questions. She then asked if any volunteers wanted to be interviewed by her, so I volunteered - and man, she asked some good questions that made me think. If you have any more questions for me, of if you would like me to come up with some interview questions for you, just leave a comment.
Here are my answers to her questions:
- Name a trait/habit of Thomas that would surprise me.
This one was hard because Thomas is the type of person that is so random that nothing is a surprise. However, despite his outgoing personality around friends, he’s extremely shy on the phone and will go out of his way to avoid making telephone calls. If we order a pizza, he will go through the hassle of ordering it online before he’ll call up the pizza restaurant. He says that he worries that when he makes a call that he’s bothering the person on the other end, even if that person’s job is to answer the phone.
- Do you like cats?
I really hate this question, mostly because I do not want to offend cat owners. I prefer to not be around cats, mostly because I’m very allergic to them. However, what I really hate is when people make a big fuss about that - I would prefer to just avoid the animals and ignore them, rather than it causing any problems or being a big issue. But, on the otherhand, I don’t despise cats - I do think they’re interesting to watch, but dogs seem to respond to people so much better.
- What is your favorite time of day?
Interestingly, I’m much more of a night person than a morning person, but if I’m well-rested and not rushing into work, I enjoy the mornings better. I like the idea of having a brand new day and all the possibilities of what I can do in it. Plus, I love breakfast foods.
- What’s the most out-of-character thing you’ve ever done?
I had a hard time with this one - I kept thinking if I did it, then how is it out-of-character. But, I’d have to say moving to Indiana was pretty out of character for me. I’ve always stayed close to home. In college, I think part of why I went to UNC was because it was only in the next town over from my home. I only really moved once in my life, so taking off to another part of the country by myself was a pretty big adventure for me. I think my character is more of a stick-to-the-safe-route kinda person. However, I would not change my actions in that case for the world.
- Are you going to cry at your wedding?
Most definately. The question is, will I cry just out of happiness, or will I cry out of stress too? I would place a pretty big bet on crying out of stress too. I’m also afraid of getting so nervous when I step out on the aisle that my stomach will flip flop, and I’ll throw up at the alter, or maybe pass out.

I am much like Thomas with the phone. I’ve gotten better about it. You’ll probably cry from stress AND happiness at your wedding! The whole walking down the aisle part was the hardest for me. Having all those people stare at me made me want to faint.
Oh yeah, I meant to ask for an interview! That is, if you want to. No pressure.
