Green is not Green

June 21st, 2006 by sallad

Thomas and I have always agreed that we want to have a green bedroom with the inspiration piece being the blown up photo of Yellowwood Forest that he gave me for Christmas. Last night, I learned that Green is not Green, though. Thomas explained that he imagined a bright, springy green that was punchy and encouraged him to wake up. I was imagining soft, pale, mossy green that would encourage me to relax. Whoops, not the same green.

Anyhow, I’ve been saving some photos of rooms that inspired me, so I’ll post them here to share.  I love the angular wood furniture, wood decor, and natural textures.

The observation about the greens is funny. It’s a good thing you learned about his taste before you painted the walls. The top left room reminds me of the furniture at a Red Roof Inn. I like the room on the lower left. What overwhelms me about the photos is the lack of clutter. Amazing! The rooms are interesting, but definitely not my style. I’m amused at how children always like things that are a different style from what their parents have. My taste was different from Mothers, and so on.
