Turn Around
We were going to NC this past weekend, but after 2.5 hours on Hwy 85, we were only 45 minutes from our house, so we turned around and headed back home. Otherwise, we would have arrived at 3AM.
It worked out for the better, though. Thomas and I got plenty of good quality chatting time in the stopped traffic. And we were going to get hardly any time outside of wedding dress shopping and babysitting while in NC. We’ve rescheduled for when we will have more time. Mom can still take me wedding dress shopping, we can baby sit Thomas’ neice, and we will have time to see our friends too.
Originally, we were going to NC to drop off Clover for my family to babysit while we were on some upcoming trips. But, both trips have been changed. Thomas’ 10 year reunion in South Florida was cancelled, and our Labor Day camping trip with our Bloomington friends was postponed.
Instead, we spent this weekend working in the yard (mowed the backyard, cleared out some dead tree branches), watching Little Miss Sunshine (highly recommend it, especially since it focuses around a VW bus), and eating lunch with our chuch group. It was a good, relaxing weekend.
It’s been raining alot recently, and we have mushrooms popping up all over the yard. The entry photo is one of the red mushrooms in the front yard.

We missed you, but you wouldn’t have enjoyed the limited air conditioning we have here. I’ll prefer more time anyway. Sounds like you made the right decision.
Love the mushroom. Get prepared for more with the hurricane rain on the way!
Toastmasteer Swedes sounds like a great idea.
I saw the preview for the movie, and I’d really like to see it. I think I’ll have to ‘flix it though. I wish it would rain in Montgomery. We only get occasional showers that last no more than 30 minutes or so. It’s been really great because I’ve been riding my motorcycle to work everyday, but our lawn has never really gotten out of hibernation from last winter.
