Clover’s Bum Bum
Last week, we noticed that Clover had not been going to the bathroom fully (no #2) for a couple days. She was hiding under the bed, and not real excited about eating dinner. I called the vet as they were closing and scheduled an appointment for her the next day. They said to take her to the 24-hour emergency clinic if she was acting really lathargic, but at that moment, she was wrestleing with Thomas, so I figured she wasn’t in a critical condition.
Thomas took her in the next morning, and the vet decided to keep her all day for some tests. She got x-rays, a blood test, an enema, a couple prescriptions, and racked up a fairly large bill. I picked her up that afternoon, and the doctor had shaved her entire behind - atleast not too many tail feathers were missing.
Thomas took her back to the vet a couple days later because she still wasn’t feeling top-notch. They figured that one of the prescriptions wasn’t agreeing with her. They modified that prescription, gave her some high-fiber dog food, and sent her on her way. She seems to be feeling better now. Maybe it’s because her doctor suggested skipping her rabies shot. But, she did remind us that Clover needs to get her teeth cleaned as soon as her behind is all better.
