Home Sweet Home
Hurray, we’re finally back home. Yesterday, we spent 10 hours on planes and 8 hours in airports. We came home and crashed even before the New Year rang in at midnight.
It was a good trip. I felt very welcomed by Thomas’ family, and got to know them much better. I enjoyed seeing how they spend Christmas, and what the winters are like there, though they said the no snow wasn’t usual. I didn’t realize how much I value sunshine until I got back.
After Christmas in Sweden, family-friends come to visit for a smörgÃ¥sbord (traditional dinner party buffet). This is what we did for the last few days there. Thomas’ family hosted 4 days of smörgÃ¥sbords, and I was able to meet several of their close family-friends. I also tried pickled herring, though I wasn’t a fan.
This morning, we woke up early and watched the sunrise from bed. Thomas made me peanut butter pancakes, and we ran a few errands. The rest of the day has been pretty relaxed with unpacking, laundry, and catching up on mail.
Hope you had a happy first day of the new year.

Comment, part deaux-
Just finished catching up on all the Sweden entries. You managed to do so much, and sounded like you were completely immersed in the Swedish culture. We actually have relatives in Stockholm, and we have been promising to visit for ages. Maybe this year….
