Finished with Hacienda Photos

May 5th, 2007 by Sallad

I’ve finished posting my photos of the Hacienda - it came out to 50 shots. Now I get to move onto the photos of our day trip to the town market. Thomas and I have created a Flickr Group for this part of the trip in Otavalo:

He hasn’t added his yet, but once he does, we may divide this group up further. These are some of my favorites.

This peacock lived outside the hotel and spent his time on a bamboo pole under an orange tree.

Ceviche with corn nuts and popcorn

This is the traditional shrimp ceviche soup that Thomas tried at dinner one night - pretty brave for his picky eating.. :) They serve it with corn nuts and popcorn which are sprinkled on the soup.

Pink Hydrangea with raindrops

The hacienda was surrounded by beautiful gardens, which they would use for fresh arrangements throughout the hotel. The hydrangeas were some of my favorite flowers they had.

Volcano in the distance

The hacienda is just outside of the town of Otavalo, which is at the base of three volcanoes. They were often covered by clouds.

Unidentified bird

There were a ton of birds all around the gardens, though I was only able to successfully photograph this kind. There were also hummingbirds, swallows, and other brightly colored species.
