First Embroidery Project

October 7th, 2007 by Sallad

Jane gave me the Doodle Stitching embroidery book for my birthday last week, and here’s what I’ve done with it so far. The first project is to make a bag to hold your embroidery gear with a sampler of all the stitches in the book.

I’ve tried 5 of the stitches so far, and it really hasn’t been that hard at all. I was able to do this while watching Shaun of the Dead Netflix movie with Thomas. I used linen for the bag, and due to careless cutting, I think I’m going to make it a square bag rather than round. I’ll post photos when I’m done.

OH NO! Not Shaun of the Dead! I hated that movie. Pure torture to watch. What did you think of it?

Your stitching looks lovely. And I have no opinion on Shaun of the Dead. We’re more a Shaun the Sheep type household…

Melissa - I’ll just say this..Netflix describes the movie as this. Thomas left out the bolded parts.

Thirty-something slacker Shaun has no clue what to do with his life or with his relationship with girlfriend Liz. But when the unthinkable happens and zombies begin to roam the streets of London terrorizing residents, including his beloved and his mother, Shaun realizes he must act quickly to save Liz from danger and keep their relationship from spiraling out of his hands forever. But is it too late for heroics?

I totally thought he was suggesting we watch a romantic chick flick. The zombies were a bit of a surprise.

HAHAHA! Surprising is an understatment…he should forever be band from your Netflix queue. :) (Or be made to sign a waiver saying if he picks another dumb movie he has to clean the bathrooms for a month. )
