Fun Monday: View from Home

October 7th, 2007 by Sallad

This week on Fun Monday, Pamela on The Dust will Wait requested:

I want to see what you see on any given morning this week; from somewhere very near where you live. Front porch, back porch, down the street, around the corner. Just makes sure it’s your neighborhood. Post a photo that will send me to the travel agent to book a weekend at your local Bed & Breakfast.

It was a beautiful morning when I took these photos. We live in a very wooded neighborhood north of Atlanta. The temperature has cooled down to a comfortable warm, and the leaves are just barely starting to change.

This is a view as you step out of the front door. The walkway is still a work of progress, and I don’t think the hummingbird feeder is getting much action. The big ferns were used in decorating our wedding ceremony - we planted them here afterward.

View from the Creek

This is our house from the backyard. One of our favorite things about the house is that it reminds us of a treehouse. I was standing back by the creek for this photo. I love birdwatching in the backyard.

View Down the Street

Our house is on the end of the street, so this is the view you see when you come and go. I was standing in front of my house. I love how the sun is filtered through the trees in the early morning.

If you’d like to see a couple more, I posted a few shots on Flickr.

I felt like a cross between Scarlet O-Hara and the Swiss Family Roinson. A tree house down a Southern lane.

    Yes.Definitely B & B worthy. I’d come visit in a heart beat!

What a beautiful place you have. I love the photo of the lane with the trees on either side, and your house does look like a tree house and is very suited to the environment. Great photos.

This is simply stunning. I can feel the peace and beauty of the place through the photos. It’s just what I needed at the end of this week which has not been one of my best.
