Fun Monday: Don’t Leave Home Without It

October 29th, 2007 by sallad

For this week’s Fun Monday, Karina asked:

What I want to see are the items you just cannot leave home without. What is it that if you leave your house without, you feel naked, incomplete, not quite right? This can be one thing or many things. And since most of us don’t live in a clothing optional society, lets just assume we all leave the house fully dressed…

The first thing I thought of was my purse. I feel really awkward if I don’t have my purse with me, but the weird thing is that I refused to carry a purse until I was out of college. Before then, I would carry my phone, wallet, keys in my pockets. Now, in my purse, I carry phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, pen, hand lotion, nail file, mints, iPod, and lots of scribbled on sticky notes.

My Purse

I mentioned my phone and that’s the second thing I thought to put on my list. Thomas and I have become a family without a landline - only cell phones, so, without it, I feel really disconnected.

My Cell Phone

Finally, I wear very plain jewelry - opal earrings and necklace. Opal is my birthstone, and my necklace was a gift from my Dad years ago, and the earrings were from Thomas on our first Christmas dating. He picked some that match my necklace wonderfully.

I feel necked and like part of me is missing if I forget my earrings and cell phone. I no longer carry a purse except when traveling. Thugs like to snatch purses from the older feneration.

Love your purse! He did do a good job matching the earrings to the necklace. We have no landline either. :) I used to be like that too, just sticking things in my pockets. Often I still do, and my pile of things stay in the car while I actually carry a few items. ;)

Must be a trend. When my husand and I moved our house, we got wireless and got rid of the landline. The fire in those opals is just beautiful.

I’m just impressed you wear jewelry. I’ve asked for some for my bday/Christmas, but then wonder where I will wear it?

I love your opal jewellery. I have some fire opal earrings that were a present from my hubby. I think quite a few people are doing away with land lines, I have to say I worry about the safety issues, but then the same applies to the computer and I spend hours surfing!

I LOVE your opals! LOVE! A girl just can’t have too many! I like fire opals, too….beautiful! I wish our cell service was reliable enough that I could get rid of the land-line.

I have a penchant for opals, too. But, I lost my favorite pair –

Purse and cellphone pretty much seems a staple for most women. But I think you are the first that has mentioned earrings and a necklace…and nice looking ones too!!
