Festive
Our house is finally decorated. Here’s a few shots as you come in and sit down in the living room.
Thomas and I compromised on the Christmas lights. He wanted colored LED and I wanted white, so we put the colored LED outside and white on the tree. I’m borrowing the macrame tree wall hanging from my parents, and I made the wreath a couple years ago. Unfortuantely, it’s starting to fall apart.
I love our tree. We were unsure how big of a tree to get, so we got a 6ft, though now we know to get a 7ft next time. It doesn’t really have a strong Christmas tree smell, but I think it looks absolutely beautiful. I tried to decorate it in a red naturey theme - there are alot of cardinals on it.
This little blue mitten ornament is from my Holiday Traditions Swap partner. I’m so behind on posting photos, but I thought I’d sneak it in there. She sent that, a cute little tin, some sweet treats, and a tiny Shakespeare book. She did a wonderful job of sharing her family’s unique traditions and included some tasty recipes.
The angel on the mantle is a tree topper that my grandmother made. I thought it looked better here, than on the tree. The photos are pictures of our grandparents, but we have those up year round. They were around our cake at our wedding. I got the hanging card idea from Dotty, and that’s her cutie baby on the postcard in the middle.

I am with you on the white lights. I’m not a big fan of colored lights on trees!
I love the cards on the clothesline. It’s especially useful now that most people seem to send postcard-like Christmas cards that won’t stand up by themselves.
I think you and Thomas have done a beautiful job of decorating the house for Christmas, and the tree is especially pretty. I love the handmade ornaments. All that is missing from here is the wonderful smell of freshly cut tree.
Beautiful. And I love the hanging card plan, ours hang vertically from the ceiling…but I like the mantle look too.
I have that exact same macrame tree–I made it the first year we were married!
Your decorations are beautiful. I’m glad to see someone else with a real tree!
I love the picture of your tree as seen through the window. Your house looks so inviting. All you will need is some hot buttered rum for your guests as they arrive.
Oh you look so festive and ready. Santa will be there soon. :)
The house looks lovely Dallas, thanks for your ideas re registry for FM, as you said perhaps we should wait on word from some of the pioneers, did you read the update BTW it helps with all but the list of participants.
Your house looks so inviting! Very nicely decorated.
Dallas, it’s all so beautiful! You and Thomas did a wonderful job of decorating.
