Greeting Card Swap Recap

March 22nd, 2008 by sallad

I never posted pictures of all the cards that were swapped in the Handmade Greeting Card Swap.  Since I think everyone has received the cards, I wanted to quickly share pictures of the set I kept.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the cards I designed, but Jane included it in her picture of what she received. Mine is the middle one with the pink button flowers.  The stems were embroidered, so the thread showed through on the other side.  If I make that kind again, I will try to find a way to hide the thread on the backside.

All of the cards I received were amazing.  There were so many creative ideas, and I was really inspired.  In fact, I’m using an idea for the Notecard Swap from one of the cards I received.  I’ll post those once I mail them off next week.  The participants were all on time and really sweet.  Some included an extra card for me or a thank you note, which was totally not necessary, but a nice idea.  I will remember to do that for future swaps that I participate in.

So here are the cards I got to keep:

In order, these were designed by: Jane, Sarah, Michelle, Melissa, Diane, Heather, Kelly, Kate

(I hope I got these straight.  Please correct me if not.)

Edit:  Diane posted a photo of the card I made on Flickr - here it is.  The inside said “Friends are flowers that never fade.”

You guys are inspiring! Someday, I’ll be able to make cards like that. :)

I love your cards, especially the one that was inspired by the cherry tree.
