Weekend Recap
It was a good weekend. Yesterday, we went to Six Flags over Georgia for Thomas’ company party. He volunteered us to be the photographers, but Thomas is still working on processing the photos. In the meantime, here’s some photos from hanging out with friends recently.
The full sets are on Flickr:
- Monday Night Dollar Bowling (12 photos)
- Brunch and a Party with the Sirineks (13 photos)
These photos are from Monday Night Dollar Bowling with Jane, Bill, Young, and Moon. I ended up using the second one for my Exposaroonie Challenge picture this week, since my first one was disqualified.

So we arrived at Six Flags yesterday shortly before lunch and met up with Thomas’ company at the lunch pavilion. They had hot dogs and sloppy joes, and gave away a ton of free raffle prizes, even a couple of Wiis. Afterward, we waited in line for the water ride for 90 minutes, and just as we finished the minute-long drenching, the skies opened up and let out a down pour. All rides closed, so we just headed on home, even though we had only ridden one ride.
These photos are from brunch with Jane and Bill.
Just as we arrived back home, I got a phone call from my Mom. She said that while we were at Six Flags, a teen hopped over a couple of fences and was hit in the head by a ride. He was decapitated. Wow, that’s crazy. And very sad. I’m amazed that we didn’t hear any peep of it around the park - no sirens, no lights, no chatter among the park guests. They really did a good job of keeping it quiet.
These photos are from a party at Bill and Jane’s house.
Last night, we went to Jane and Bill’s house for a little get together. Anna and Dave, two of our other really good friends stopped by, so we got to catch up with them. Thomas and I got to feel Anna’s belly - the first pregnant belly we’ve ever felt. Thomas quickly learned that just because Anna said he could touch it once, doesn’t mean he can touch it whenever he wants.
It was a great weekend, and it had been nice to see so many friends recently. This is going to be a short week for us, as we’ve got a four day weekend coming up. Have a great week.

A bunch of wide-angle fun, apparently :-) I like that shot of the ball return.
Yes! Holy Cow! I heard about that kid on the news last night. I guess they scaled the fences to get a hat or they were trying to grab legs as the ride went by, but one of the boys forgot to duck. Gross. Love the pictures. Welcome back from your week off!
Holy crap! I read about that on CNN. How terrible.
The first pregnant belly I ever felt was my own. I was surprised at how hard/firm it felt! I expected it to be more squishy.

I totally heard about the Six Flags thing! That is crazy that you guys were there and didn’t hear anything. You would think there would have been a huge commotion or something. Weird.
Bummer that your day was cut short by rain though. Did you get a partial refund or anything?
